BUDDY AND KIZZY RAGDOLL X PERSIAN ABOUT A YEAR OLD
My name is Jayne.I live near Nottingham with my husband.And of course my Ragdolls Missy and her daughter Cally and Buddy my RagdollxPersian.
I have just had my second litter of Ragdolls.
5 years ago after my Persian cross had to be put to sleep i decided that i would like another cat and started looking on the internet at different breeds.Because i liked the Persian i decided i would like a cross again.I came across someone selling Ragdollx Persians and here started my adiction to Ragdolls!!!
We had to fetch the kittens from Tooting Bec in London.So we went by train and stayed the night, before picking up brother and sister RagdollxPersian kittens.Buddy was a chocolate colourpoint and Kizzy was lilac colourpoint.They hadnt been handled much and were very timid to begin with.I spent hours in the bedroom with them.Just letting them get used to me and playing with them.
I soon realised that Ragdolls wernt like any other cat.They act more like dogs than cats.
I lost Kizzy to bone cancer nearly 2 years ago,i was devastated.She spent all her time with me and every morning i had to have my face washed.While watching tv she would lie on my chest with her head at the side of mine.She just loved being with me.Even after all this time i still miss her and dont think i will ever find another cat like her!!
Buddy missed her so much. He wasnt eating and would cry for her which was so upsetting.I decided i had to get another kitten and started looking for a Ragdoll.Every time i rang up about one that was advertised it had been sold.Or i had to wait weeks before they were old enough.Everyone seemed to have boys but i wanted a girl. I wasnt sure what colour i wanted as there were so many,then add mitted,bi coloured,tabby.tortie.
Anyway i came across a lady who had some kittens at a few weeks old and i really didnt want to wait another 11 weeks.So i didnt know what to do.A few weeks went by and this lady then advertised Missy,she was going to keep her for breeding but then decided to buy a horse and had to let her go.I saw her picture and said i wanted her.I went on the train to see her and leave a deposit.
On 4th August 2007 Missy came home with us.Boy did she have attitude.Buddy took one look at her and looked at me as if to say WHATS THAT?? Hes such a large cat and she was small but he was frightened of her.She looked at him hissed and shes been the boss ever since….
A lot has happened since Missy arrived.She had her first litter in 2008.Of which i kept Cally.
Missy had her next litter in 2009 of which i was very good and didnt keep any!!!
Cally her daughter had her first litter this year April 2010….I kept Lilly!!!
Missy had her litter in July 2010…..Watch this space to see if any are staying!!!!!!!
I was good and didnt keep any this time!!!Its soooo hard not to!!!
Missy had kittens in May 2011 and they were gorgeous such a lovely litter i loved them all.Cried when they went : -(
But this time i did keep a Seal Colourpoint girl…….
Her name is Indi and she will be my first girl to have my prefix
“RAGZNDREAMS HIGH HOPES”
I will be showing Indi later on this year and hope she does well on the show bench!!!
My Ragdolls are firstly my pets who are much loved and are part of the family.My husband always says he comes after the cats and the horses!!!!!
As you can see one Ragdoll is never enough,and neither is two!!Im not quite sure how many are!!!
